Capitol Equities, a commercial real estate firm based in Columbus, Ohio announces the completion of interior renovations to the 27,000 square foot 2200 West Fifth Avenue building, formerly part of the Highlights for Children campus.
The final building to undergo renovations on this campus 2200 West Fifth Ave was occupied by Zaner Bloser, a division of Highlights, until June 2007 when it moved to Highlight’s new campus on Watermark Drive. Once vacated, the process was begun to rehabilitate the property into a multi-tenant facility with Capitol Equities providing construction management for the project.
Capitol Equities also finalized leases for two organizations to occupy the majority of the 2200 building once the renovation was complete. In July 2007 the Butler Cincione& DiCuccio law firm moved into the third floor of the building leaving approximately 1,850 square feet available on the floor.
As of September 1, 2007 the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services will occupy the entire first and second floors of the building, bringing the building occupancy to over 95% within 60-days of Zaner Bloser vacating the property.
The last phase of the building rehabilitation to be completed this fall will be a new entryway and lobby area which will create a similar style and campus environment between the 2200 and 2300 West Fifth buildings.
“By updating the main entry and common lobby of the 2200 West Fifth building we are creating a focal point for the facility which also provides exterior signage and branding for our tenants,” says Todd Kemmerer, President of Capitol Equities.
He adds, “The campus’ location at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Dublin Road is a natural gateway into the Grandview and Marble Cliff neighborhoods and we believe the proposed exterior improvements to the 2200 Fifth Avenue building will match the dynamic feel and look of the Babbage Simmel building and give this location the distinction it deserves.”
