J.R. Kern
President
With over twenty-five of real estate experience, J.R. is a relationship builder providing long-term representation and consulting services to many prominent organizations. Stepping into the role of President in 2022, JR oversees all divisions of Capitol Equities, from sales and leasing to management services. J.R. directs the vision of the company and all aspects of our successful client relations – consistently focusing on creative, solution-driven, team oriented representation frequently resulting in unconventional successes for our clients. Treating every property, every transaction, no matter the size, like it is our own.
R. Todd Kemmerer
Founder
Todd founded Capitol Equities in 1997 to bring something different to commercial real estate clients – a partnership in vision with his clients. Twenty-five years later, his entrepreneurial spirit and focus on adaptability and creativity in all aspects of real estate, from redevelopment projects, owner representation, to consulting solutions continues to drive our team’s vision and direction for the future.
Ed Fellows
VP of Brokerage
With over a decade at Capitol Equities, Ed brings his proven representation successes to his role of VP Brokerage. His mix of direct marketing, lead generation and extensive networking has provided great results for our clients through all facets of the industry – representing both tenant/buyers and landlord/sellers with great immediate success; to providing strategic business forecasting and planning as it relates to our clients’ current and future real estate needs.
Stacy Miller
VP MARKETING + OPERATIONS
Since 2001 Stacy has been providing creative marketing and administrative management for Capitol Equities. She has set the standard for our superior client and tenant communications. Her journalism and English background provides a clear voice to provide oversight and direction to all aspects of our communications from client services to marketing and operations.

Shelley Weaver
VP FINANCE
With over 25 years of financial experience, Shelley directs our financial management services team and works closely with the maintenance services division to provide careful oversight of our client management portfolio. She oversees financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, as well as banking relationships and our human resources.
Emily Burgard
Senior Property Accountant
Emily is an integral part of our financial services team – overseeing accounts payable, bank reconciliations and management technology services. Her background in both finance and software development makes her uniquely qualified to oversee client billing, which is conducted by our management team via ‘in the field’ technology.
Seth Weaver
Accounts Payable
Seth oversees key components of our financial team including accounts payable and utility management for our company and management clients’ operations.

Paul Spence
VP PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
Paul has been providing highly-detailed property management services since 2004. With his expertise in maintenance and management services he has successfully overseen a portfolio of 80+ mixed-use properties throughout central Ohio. Paul provides oversight for the entire maintenance team and directs our client management portfolio services, currently totaling over 2M square feet.
Jackie Shipley
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR
Jackie brought to Capitol Equities an extensive background covering all aspects of commercial real estate – from lease administration, marketing and research, to reporting and transaction coordination. Her in depth experience, coupled with a focus on superior customer service, perfectly rounds out our management services team as she oversees client/tenant relations, vendor management and general project management.
