Midtown Office Building Undergoes Massive Interior Makeover Capitol Equities has directed the massive interior makeover of a large office building in the Midtown neighborhood of Indianapolis. The transformed interior's modern feel focused on creating collaborative, open work environments to entice businesses to the heart of Midtown. The United Way of Central Indiana and the Indiana United Ways organizations are the first two tenants to join the updated site, which also houses State Auto Insurance.

Sneak Peek of Columbus’ Unrivaled Rooftop Bar Located on the tippy top of the large brick building at 580 N 4th St, Juniper is Dock580’s premier rooftop bar. The transformable space is decked out with glass walls, a beautiful wrap-around bar, a huge patio terrace with a fireplace, and a glass, retractable ceiling. Capitol Equities, the real estate firm behind the project, has been working long and hard to bring Columbus this unrivaled way of dining and drinking. Juniper will feature a menu of small plates and specialize in gin. It will be open to the public Tuesday-Thursday and will host private parties on the weekends.

Juniper, The New Rooftop Venue Atop The Smith Bros’ Hardware Building, Is Open Rooftop Patio isn't the right term for Juniper. The 12,000-square-foot restaurant and event space perched atop the Smith Brothers Hardware building is the latest and biggest addition to the growing dining/drinking skyline around Columbus. “We built a building on top of a building,” said Steve Rayo, owner-operator of the Dock580 event company, the operator of Juniper.

Where Are Pins Mechanical and 16-Bit Opening Up Next? Capitol Equities client, Rise Brands, announces expansion plans for both their Pins Mechanical and 16-Bit Bar + Arcade concepts in markets including Indianapolis, Nashville, and possibly Austin. Operations in Over-The-Rhine and Dublin Bridge Park are also expected to open in 2018, joining their successes in Columbus and Cleveland.

Things Are Looking Up As Restauranteurs, Building Owners Add Rooftop Bars, Dining Rooftop bars and restaurants are on the rise in Columbus, both in new builds and retro-fitted to existing buildings - such as the case with the Smith Bros' Hardware building. The new rooftop event space - Juniper - was added as the 'seventh story' to the almost 100 year old adaptive reuse project in the Italian Village.

Drunch – Brunch and Bar Spot Now Open in Italian Village Drunch Eatery & Bar is ready to serve those who crave french toast or chicken and waffles for dinner. The new Italian Village restaurant held a soft opening last week at 995 N. Fourth St. and will open on its regular schedule Tuesday. It is the latest tenant in a Capitol Equities project that also includes Cosecha, the Royal Rhino Club and the Amaze escape room.

Downtown Building Brings ‘A Little Dirt, a Little Grit’ to Express’ New Space Capitol Equities' newest adaptive reuse project brings 'a little dirt, a little grit' to its recently completed office space in downtown Columbus. Express Inc. is moving into the almost 20,000-square-foot former Weisheimer Vacuum building, which will be used for photographers, videographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, copywriters, art directors and more.

Express’ Creative Team Moving Into Renovated Historic Digs When the creative team of apparel retailer Express takes up residence in its new Downtown space next week, the employees will find a building that’s bright, spacious and fresh — but hardly new. Capitol Equities, which specializes in turning historic buildings into creative office space, bought the 18,000-square-foot building at 235 N. 4th St. in October and began renovations in January.

Rooftop Event Space Fills Need for Dynamic Venues A high-profile construction project in Columbus is the addition of a rooftop venue to the Smith Bros. Hardware building just north of Downtown. The brick building, with its distinctive rooftop water tower, can’t be missed by those traveling into or through Downtown from the north. Management is capitalizing on the location and views of Downtown to build what will be the third — and the largest and showiest — of three event spaces in the 1920s-era building.

Fashion Retailer Express Moving to Former Weisheimer Building Capitol Equities, which specializes in turning historic buildings into creative office space, bought the Weisheimer building in October and will be leasing the site to Express' creative development team when renovations are complete later this summer.

Weisheimer Vacuum Building Becoming Office + Photography Studio The former Weisheimer Vacuum Building is the latest piece of North Fourth Street property redeveloped by Capitol Equities in downtown Columbus. The use of the building, when renovations are complete, will be divided between creative office space and a photography studio for fashion retailer Express.

Mikey’s Late Night Slice Coming to Yankee Trader Mikey’s Late Night Slice, tenant representation provided by Capitol Equities, and The Candle Lab will take the final two spots in that Short North structure with both first floor and basement spaces for both in the Triad Architects Ltd. project.

Bourbon, billiards and master barbers: Inside Charles Penzone’s vision for the Royal Rhino Club Royal Rhino Club, Charles Penzone company’s first foray into the barbershop world in its 48 years, will open May 15 in a nearly 2,000-square-foot space at 993 N. Amaze Opens in Italian Village Columbus has a new team-building concept for corporate groups and fun-seekers. Amaze, the Columbus Escape Experience, has opened in the Italian Village. Smith Bros’ Rooftop Event Facility On Track for Fall Capitol Equities has begun construction of a 12,000 square foot dining and event space with full kitchen and bar on the rooftop of the iconic Smith Bros' Hardware building. The one-of-a-kind facility will provide expansive views of downtown Columbus and is scheduled to open in fall 2017.

Drunch, a New Italian Village eatery announced Drunch Eatery & Bar will be opening in Capitol Equities' Italian Village retail development in 2017. Their concept, brunch 7 days a week, will be joining an all-star mix of tenants including Cosecha Cocina (by the Harvest Pizzeria group) , the Royal Rhino Club (a new men's hair concept by Charles Penzone), and Amaze - The Columbus Escape Experience, and others. The 12,000+ square foot project formerly served the neighborhood as an appliance warehouse and vacant, historic carriage house.

Columbus’ Coolest Offices: Grandview Project In The Spotlight Capitol Equities' Grandview warehouse redevelopment project resulted in a cool, distinct office environment for Schaefer. The project is also home to Reed Arts, Bikram Hot Yoga and Crystal Remembrance glass studio.

Arena District getting cheesesteak shop with takeout window Capitol Equities has signed Sandman Gourmet to Marconi Square, in the heart of the Arena District in downtown Columbus. Sandman's newest location will provide an inside deli counter and take-out window facing the Nationwide Boulevard patio.

101 Beer Kitchen taking craft beer, craft food to Westerville 101 Beer Kitchen plans to open their Polaris Parkway location this summer. This marks the third location for 101 Beer Kitchen, currently operating restaurants in Dublin and Gahanna, for which Capitol Equities has provided tenant representation services.

Charles Penzone building new Grand Salon in Dublin; designed as ‘scalable platform for future growth’ The Charles Penzone company, and its real estate partner, Capitol Equities, is working with the city of Dublin to gain approval for a new Dublin Grand Salon. The project will consist of a 12,000 square foot new salon, with the company retaining the former 18,000 salon, possibly to be used as a training academy.
